Shalom,
A huge thank you to the volunteers who worked tirelessly at Jewtica 2024. Check out the website- Jewtica.com, and submit your photos.
Months are spent planning for the 6 hours of fun, food and entertainment for our entire community. I often wonder if people realize the hours needed to plan the event, arranging for the musicians and procuring the stage, hiring the chef for the cooking demonstrations, processing applications for the food vendors, craft and informational vendors, asking for volunteers, obtaining sponsors, ordering the tents and chairs, hiring security, medical personal, creating signage, and the bookkeeping.
Don’t forget the porta potties!
Then comes the few days before the event when the volunteers are invaluable. When the tents go up, chairs and tables must be arranged, pop up tents to set up, signage displayed, vendor placement and set up, covering the tables, helping the vendors unload and pitching in where is needed.
Now it is time to welcome the community and hopefully everyone has a wonderful time. The volunteers may even get a chance to take part in the festivities!
So, you see, it doesn’t just happen without you, the volunteers. Thank you again and again. Hopefully, next year more people will step up and join in making Jewtica 2025 the best yet.
Now back to Temple business. Watch for your letter in the mail about the Book of Life and please respond in a timely fashion so it will be ready for the High Holidays.
This year, we will need a chairperson or persons for the 95th Political Forum Breakfast. I do hope we can continue this long standing and important event.
I will take this opportunity to thank Rae and Stephen Rosenfeld for their years of service on the board of Temple Beth El. We could always count on them to pitch in in many ways over the years.
Enjoy the summer my friends,
Marsha
